5 Ways to Celebrate Mother's Day This Year

“A mother is your first friend, your best friend, your forever friend.” —Unknown

This Mother's Day is going to look a lot different for many of us. Your husband and kiddos probably aren't taking you to a nice brunch prepared at your favorite restaurant. You probably cannot see your mom either, except on a screen. So how can we show all mothers love this Sunday?

Here are 5 ways to celebrate Mother's Day.

1. Picnic Time

Cook and bake your mom's favorite meal and treats - massive bonus points for involving the kiddos. Place the goodies in a cute picnic basket and deliver it to her doorstep. If you can, have a picnic in your or her yard.

Not close enough to her? Order her dinner from her favorite local restaurant & have it delivered at the time when you can sit down to eat as well. Now, share a meal for Mother's Day.

2. Game Night

Who doesn't love a good board game? Even through a screen, you can play mom in a lot of games acting and moving based on your mother's decision or through an app. If you are lucky enough to be in person, play games all night long.

3. Get Crafty

Order your mama an easy to do craft and have it delivered to her doorstep from a local craft store like AR Workshop here in Asheville. Don't forget to order one for yourself too. Then schedule a time on Mother's Day to craft with your mom.

4. Start a Book Club

Send your mother a book you think both of you will enjoy. Schedule a time to chat about the book every week for the month of May. Try to read at the same or similar pace so you have something to discuss each week.

5. Move & Groove

Schedule to take a virtual workout class together. There are a lot of fitness studios in your area offering virtual classes which you and your mama can take together. Enjoy some yoga, dance, or a fun cardio and core class with us here at FIT4MOM. It doesn't have to be on the Sunday of Mother's Day either. Consider buying your mom a week or month of classes. In fact, we are giving free classes to all new mamas starting Monday, May 11th. Follow the steps here for your first free class and automatically get a week free.
